Stephen and Ayesha Curry got the last laugh in their rivalry with Boston Celtics fans after the Golden State Warriors won Thursday’s Game 6 at TD Garden.

Ayesha Curry – who was the target of some playful trash talk during the series – had the perfect tweet as the score became final.

“On the menu tonight: SF Hot Pot with a side of Curry GOAT”, Mrs Curry tweeted just moments after the Warriors secured the 103-90 Game 6 win.

While Ayesha remained quiet for most of the series, Steph Curry and the Celtics fan base went back and forth during the finals. The two-time MVP kicked things up a notch when he wore an Ayesha Curry CAN Cook shirt to his postgame ironing press after Game 5. It was in response to a sign that went viral from a Boston bar that read, “Ayesha Curry CAN I don’t cook.”

While it’s never a good thing when family gets a part of the banter, Steph Curry seemed to enjoy the situation.

“I’m the little king, so I know everything about everything. I use it as entertainment and just have fun with it,” Curry said ahead of Game 6. “When it comes to winning championships, the stakes are high.

“Maybe back then, first year, first two years, maybe things will catch you off guard just because it’s so new. You wonder how these narratives come about, all the distractions crop up here and there. I think the more you immerse yourself in these environments, the more you use them as entertainment, fun, embrace them.โ€

Curry was also a bit cheeky on the court during the clincher. He pointed to his hand to indicate he was ready for his fourth ring and did his now too patented night night celebration in the fourth quarter.

Ayesha wasn’t the only member of the Curry family to take to Twitter after the win. Steph’s brother Seth also had a message he wanted to spread about his live-shooting relative.

“Don’t talk about Steph again unless it’s in a conversation with the great PLAYERS of the time!! And I mean a handful of people who’ve ever touched a basketball.” Seth Curry tweeted shortly after the Warriors hoisted the trophy.

While the Currys were clearly on a mission on Twitter, it was Anna Horford, sister of Celtics big man Al Horford, who didn’t take the loss well.

Congratulations to the bโ€“ch ass warriors. yes i am salty Yes, it was a shitty loss.โ€ she tweeted. โ€œI love our boys and love how far we’ve come. Sad for my brother who played a great game. Go Cs.โ€

Steph Curry focused on the team after the win

Curry earned his first Finals MVP, averaging 31.2 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals. He shot 48% from the field and 42% from beyond the arc.

With the new hardware, Curry joins an elite club of seven other players who have won Finals and Regular Season MVPs and earned a scoring title. The others are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal and Wilt Chamberlain.

The title was the Warriors’ fourth in eight years and Curry declined to discuss his personal accomplishments after the game. He focused on celebrating what his team had achieved.

“Forget that question,” Curry barked at a reporter who began his press conference by asking what it means to be Finals MVP. “Why are you starting with this question? We have four championships. God is awesome, the ability to be on that stage and play with great teammates against a great Boston Celtics team that gave us everything we could to try and get to the finish line.

โ€œThis one certainly hits differently just knowing what the last three years have meant, what it’s been like, from injuries to changes of guard in the squads, Wiggs coming through, our young people having the belief that we going back to that stage and victory, although it didn’t make any sense to anyone when we said it, all those things are important.

And the warriors are going nowhere. Golden State wins the 2023 NBA title at Caesars Sportsbook 5-1 followed by the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics.
