Who will be No. 1 overall pick in 2022 NBA Draft? Oddsmakers favor SEC forward days before draft. | Sports Betting

After the NBA Finals were decided Thursday night when the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics for their fourth championship in eight years, all eyes turned to the 2022 NBA Draft.

When the odds for the top draft pick opened on May 17, shortly after the 2022 NBA draft lottery, Caesars Sportsbook, Bet.NOLA.com’s official odds partner, sat Auburn forward Jabari Smith Jr. as the favorite at – 125 to number one overall.

As it stands this morning, three days before the draft closes at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Smith Jr. is still the favorite on Caesars Sportsbook and his price has risen to -180 to take the overall win.

Second overall pick Gonzaga Big Man Chet Holmgren saw the price jump from +145 on May 17th to +175 on June 20th.

Paolo Banchero, the Duke forward, saw his price increase from +500 to +800 now, while Jaden Ivey, the Purdue keeper saw his chances increase from 40/1 to 100/1 to be the first pick .

After the top four players on the board, the odds increase significantly, meaning the oddsmakers are likely to see Chet Holmgren or Jabari Smith Jr. as a top pick. Based on the odds, the New Orleans Pelicans appear to be in the game for players like Bennedict Mathurin, the Arizona guard (+30,000), Ochai Agbaji, the Kansas forward (+30,000), and Marjon Beauchamp, the guard and forward the NBA G League Ignite (+75000).

Here’s a look at the odds to make the top overall pick, based on Caesars Sportsbook betting odds.
