What the experts are saying about Celtics 2022 draft pick JD Davison

The Celtics had just one pick in the 2022 NBA draft — 53rd overall. They used that selection to take on Alabama point guard JD Davison on Thursday evening.

Davison brings some serious hype to Boston — he was a five-star recruit who ranked in the top 20 nationally at this time last year when he graduated from high school. His playing time, however, was relatively limited as part of a deep Alabama backyard. The 19-year-old went into the draft as a relatively unknown quantity.

There’s not much collegiate tie on Davison as on some other prospects, but what did NBA draft pundits say about Davison ahead of Thursday? Here’s a look at some of his scouting reports…
