Joe Sakic accepted the Stanley Cup from Gary Bettman on behalf of the Colorado Avalanche in 1996 and 2001. (Though he quickly surrendered the trophy to Ray Bourque after the Avs’ second title.)
Longtime team captain Gabe Landeskog received the honor of accepting and lifting the trophy on Sunday evening.
