In a seemingly epic streak, the Colorado Avalanche defeated the two-time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Denver on Wednesday night.
Game 2 takes place on Saturday evening in the Ball Arena.
There has been a lot of talk about Tampa Bay’s lead in Finals experience. But it was Andre Burakovsky who won a trophy with the Washington Capitals, scoring the game to 1:23 for Colorado in overtime.

The Avalanche took a 3-1 lead in the first period with goals from Gabriel Landeskog, Valeri Nichushkin and Artturi Lehkonen. Nicholas Paul scored for the blitz.
