Vissel Kobe announce class Celtic Kyogo collaboration

J-League club Vissel Kobe have announced merchandise paying tribute to Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi.

The 27-year-old, who was signed last summer, quickly became a hero among Celtic fans for his performances under Ange Postecoglou.

Especially in the first half of the campaign, Kyogo acted as a good luck charm for the former Socceroos boss.

To bring Kyogo into the club, Postecoglou used what he learned from his time in Japan managing Yokohama F Marinos.

The striker was brought to Glasgow by Vissel Kobe after spending four successful years at the club, which launched his career and eventually saw him move to Europe.

Although the Japan international left around 12 months ago, he still has a close relationship with his former club.

Last month, during Kyogo’s summer break back in Japan, he made his way to visit his ex-teammates at the training ground and was also welcomed home by the fans.

Vissel Kobe has decided to continue paying tribute to the Hoops frontman by releasing special merchandise including half-and-half scarves and mugs.

Celtic have also announced this They will be part of the collaboration and these items can be purchased online by Japanese customers.

While this type of merch isn’t really something you’d see too often from clubs in the UK, it’s not the first time a Japanese club has paid tribute to an outgoing personality en route to Glasgow.

Last season Ange Postecoglou received his own special tribute from Yokohama and it seems to be quite regular in Japan for a popular player/coach to travel to Europe.

I’m sure fans of Vissel Kobe, Celtic and Kyogo will love this release and pick up as much merchandise as possible.
