NEW YORK – Six ties between teams with identical regular-season records were broken today by random draws to determine the order of picks for the 2021 NBA draft presented by State Farm. The draws were conducted by NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations Kiki VanDeWeghe at the NBA office in Secaucus, New Jersey. The tiebreak process was overseen by Marc Dieli, a representative of the accounting firm Ernst & Young. The results of the drawings:
- The Oklahoma City Thunder (22-50) won a tiebreak with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
- The Chicago Bulls (31-41) won a tiebreak with the New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings. Places two and three in the tiebreak went to Sacramento and New Orleans, respectively.
- The Charlotte Hornets (33-39) won a tiebreak with the San Antonio Spurs.
- The New York Knicks (41-31) won a tiebreak with the Atlanta Hawks.
- The Dallas Mavericks (42-30) won a tiebreak with the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers. Second and third place in the tie-break went to Los Angeles and Portland, respectively.
- The LA Clippers (47-25) won a tiebreak with the Denver Nuggets.
Presented by State Farm, the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday, June 22 and will air live on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET. The 2021 NBA draft presented by State Farm will be held on Thursday, July 29. Below is the picking order for the 2021 NBA draft presented by State Farm and the probability of receiving the first draft pick for teams in the 2021 NBA draft lottery by county farm.

Drawing will be conducted in the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm to determine the top four picks in the 2021 NBA Draft presented by State Farm. The rest of the “lottery teams” will pick in reverse order of their records in places 5th through 14th in the 2020-21 regular season games.
