Steph Curry, ‘the petty king,’ enjoying sparring with Celtics fans as GameOn begins selling ‘Ayesha Curry can’t cook’ T-shirts

BOSTON – After Steph Curry wore an “Ayesha Curry CAN cook” t-shirt to his press conference following Golden State’s Game 5 win over the Celtics, GameOn doubled down on its claims to the contrary.

When the Warriors were in Boston for Games 3 and 4, GameOn, the sports bar affiliated with Fenway Park, wrote “Ayesha Curry Can’t Cook” in chalk on one of his sandwich boards and “Duece Tatum > Riley Curry” in another recent week. Riley Curry is Steph’s daughter and the bar misspelled Deuce.

Curry wore the t-shirt after Game 5, but Tuesday’s GameOn board read, “Ayesha Curry STILL CANNOT COOK,” followed by “Steph says his wife can cook is like your mom tells you.” that you are BEAUTIFUL.”

They also sell Celtic green T-shirts with white letters that say “Ayesha Curry can’t cook” in capital letters.

With the Warriors leading 3-2 in Thursday’s Game 6 at the TD Garden, Curry said he was having fun.

“I’m the little king, so I know everything about everything. I use it as entertainment and just have fun with it,” he said. “The more you’re on stage, the more you realize the attention that’s on you, how much it means to every fan base, how much it means to the cities. There’s really nothing to be surprised about. When it comes to winning championships, the stakes are high.”

He said he’s much better at putting things in perspective.

“Maybe back then, first year, first two years, maybe things will catch you off guard just because it’s so new. You wonder how these narratives come about, all the distractions pop up here and there,” Curry said. “I think the more you immerse yourself in these environments, the more you use them as entertainment, fun, embrace them. Honestly, knowing you’re on this stage and playing for something that a lot of people really care about, you wouldn’t want it any other way.”
