The Colorado Avalanche are looking to extend their best-of-seven series lead over the Tampa Bay Lighting in Game 3 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals as the series moves from Denver to Tampa Bay. The two clubs meet at the Amalie Arena on Monday night with an MT puck drop scheduled at 6pm.

In Game 2 on Saturday night, the Avalanche defeated the Lightning by a final score of 7-0. Darcy Kumper scored a shutout win with 17 shots on goal Andre Burakowski, Darren Helm, Valery Nikhushkin (2), Kal Makar (2 and Josh Manson found the back of the net. Mikko Rantanen prepared three of the seven goals.

The 17 shots on goal were the Lightning’s fewest in any game of the 2022 season and the lowest in a playoff series since Game 2 of their second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes in 2021. The Avs’ seven goals were given up most by goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy in every playoff game of his career.

This was Darcy Kuemper’s third career playoff shutout… Valeri Nichushkin added two more goals to his total of eight playoff goals… Mikko Rantanen equalized Cale Makar with his three assists in the game, taking them both to 17 in the playoffs. Cale Makar added two more points to his resume, making him the leader for the Avs with 24 points…Darren Helm scored his second goal of the playoffs to go high with his team, 22 goals…Andre Burakovsky continued shine with two more points (1G, 1A) in this Stanley Cup final.
