The San Antonio Spurs travel to Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon before participating in the NBA Summer League. There have been questions about the status of Jeremy Sochan, who was drafted No. 9 overall in the 2022 NBA draft.
Sochan recently tested positive for COVID-19 and was unavailable for Spurs’ practices prior to his departure for Las Vegas. His status for Summer Spurs is yet to be determined. He was at the team’s training facility on Tuesday and will accompany the team to Nevada to work on his conditioning.
Spurs won’t be short of notable players to pay special attention to in the Summer League, even if Sochan is unable to attend. Fellow rookie players Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley certainly make the list. With recent lottery selection Joshua Primo also on Spurs’ summer list, he’s a player to watch.
With Spurs’ recovery plans, there will be greater anticipation for their young players’ performance in Las Vegas. The games count for nothing significant, but serve as a premier player development opportunity for all NBA teams.
Here is the team’s current schedule:
Spurs versus Cleveland Cavaliers – Friday, July 8 at 4pm CT at the Cox Pavilion
Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors – Sunday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. CT at the Thomas & Mack Center
Spurs versus Houston Rockets – Monday, July 11 at 6pm CT at the Thomas & Mack Center
Spurs versus Atlanta Hawks – Thursday, July 14 at 2pm CT at the Cox Pavilion
