With the Celtics out of town and NBA Finals ticket prices skyrocketing, people are turning to a more affordable experience with an exciting atmosphere—spectator parties.
The Boston Celtics take on the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday in San Francisco.
A watch party is held in Samuel Adams Park at Faneuil Hall. The event is free and starts at 9 p.m. with the start of the game.

The fans kept a close eye on this team during the playoffs. Interest was high throughout the season. All this hype also drives up ticket prices.
According to StubHub, the average price for Game 1 is around $1,500. According to StubHub, 71% of fans who buy tickets have addresses in California and 3% have addresses in Massachusetts.
The series hits the TD Garden Wednesday and Friday. Some tickets for the Boston games resell for more than $2,800. For Game 3, the first game in Boston, StubHub says the average price is just under $2,000.
The Celtics have not been in the Finals since 2010. It’s been a long time and fans are happy that the team is looking for another title.
