“I’ve never been this emotional about a woman,” Depp told Hello magazine in 1998. I’m the one who has to take responsibility for what happened – I was difficult to deal with, I let my work get in the way and I wasn’t giving her the attention I should have.
“The whole thing was crazy because I should never have gotten so upset about what people had to say about my work,” he continued. “Sure, I should take care of my films, but when I get home I should try to leave this stuff behind. I couldn’t, and I was horrible to live with. Trust me, I’m a total jerk sometimes.”
Meanwhile, Moss told vanity fair in 2012: “There is no one who could ever really take care of me. Johnny did for a while… I believed what he said. Like if I said, “What should I do?” he would tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I was really losing the measure of someone I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!’
