(Pocket-lint) – Dominic Toretto and his crew have been tearing up the streets for over two decades the Fast and Furious movies have changed significantly over the years – both the plots and the stunts have become more extreme – it’s a franchise that’s still going strong 21 years after the release of the first film.

The latest film – Fast 9 – was released in 2021 and now all eyes are on Fast and Furious 10 – known as Fast X.

That’s everything we know so far about part one of the two-part finale that will conclude the Fast Saga, including when it’s expected to be released, who’s likely to be in it, and all the news surrounding it.

Fast and Furious 10 release date: When do you expect Fast X to come out?

It was originally confirmed by Universal that Fast and Furious 10, or Fast X as it’s now officially known, would hit theaters on April 7, 2023.

However, this date has now been pushed back new date confirmed be May 19, 2023.

Vin DieselDominic Toretto was confirmed on April 20 on his Instagram account that filming had begun and at the same time confirmed the title of the film.

Fast X cast: who is expected to return for Fast and Furious 10?

It wouldn’t be right to have a Fast and Furious finale without most of the core crew, would it? And yes, some of them are no longer alive – Gisele, for example – but that hasn’t stopped The Fast Saga from finding a way to bring key characters back in time. Yes Han, we’re talking about you.

Of course, given the tragic death of Paul Walker in November 2013, it will be a lot sadder with Brian O’Connor, but O’Connor lives on in the saga so no doubt he’ll at least get a mention and who knows with technology what directors might do these days to let O’Connor’s character shine brightly in this film.

With none of the core crew dying in Fast 9, we expect the following cast members to return for Fast X:

  • Vin Diesel as Dom
  • Michelle Rodriguez as Letty
  • Tyrese Gibson as a novel
  • Ludacris as Tej
  • Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey
  • Sung Kang as Han
  • Jordana Brewster as Mia

Charlize Theron has confirmed her return to the Fast Saga, which means Cipher will be returning as a villain. We wouldn’t be surprised if Jason Statham returned as Deckard Shaw, considering he appeared in the Fast 9 credits, and his mother, Magdalene “Queenie” Shaw, played by Helen Mirren, would also be a surprising omission.

Given that Fast 9 introduced Dom’s brother Jakob Toretto, played by John Cena, to the party, we’d expect he might return in a way too – and more on Fast’s good side than bad from the start X

Fast 9 left the fate of My Nobody (Kurt Russell) in question, but since he’s the reason Han is alive thanks to his help faking his death, we expect he’ll have a role in the finale. Unfortunately, it looks like there’s no sign of a return for Dwayne Johnson – aka The Rock – who played Luke Hobbs in several of the Fast and Furious films.

Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, and Brie Larson have all been confirmed for Fast X, although we don’t know at this time that their roles other than Momoa will be a villain.

What is expected in Fast X?

It’s hard to say at the moment what the plot of Fast X will be like. The final two films are expected to tell an overarching story, although at the moment it’s unclear what that storyline will focus on.

Dom’s crew will no doubt save the world and Cipher will no doubt try to destroy it, but who will be on which side and what the characters are up to remains unclear for now. With Fast 9, where Tej and Roman fly into space, let’s face it, anything is possible.

We suspect we’ll find out if Mr Nobody is dead or alive, and Fast 9’s credits sequence suggests that the Han and Shaw storyline could feature prominently in the next film, but we’ll have to wait and see for now where does the finale lead?

Is there a Fast X trailer?

There’s no trailer for the Fast X movie yet – it’s a bit early. We would recommend Follow Vin Diesel on Instagram as he often shares behind-the-scenes footage of filming, so you can probably get a little sneak peek in the months to come. He has already posted a video from the first week of shooting.

When Fast 9 was expected in June 2020, a trailer was released in January 2020, six months earlier. It is therefore unlikely that we will see a Fast X trailer before November 2022.

Fast X News: Everything we’ve heard so far

April 23, 2022: Adir Abergel posted two pics of Charlize Theron on the set of Fast X. He said, “Cipher is back and ready! Fast and Furious X, @thefastsaga Let’s go!”

April 21, 2022: Vin Diesel shares a video of him talking to director Justin Lin, who said filming Fast X week one “feels like the beginning of an epic ending.” Diesel asked if it’s “fair to say this will be the best yet” and Lin replied “in my heart, yes”.

April 20, 2022: Vin Diesel said the original script for the Fast 10 movie didn’t include Mia Toretto and his daughter told the director, “No Mia, No Fast 10.” Given that Brewster was confirmed for Fast X, it obviously had an impact.

April 20, 2022: Vin Diesel confirms that Fast and Furious 10 has started filming and will be called Fast X.

April 10, 2022: Vin Diesel confirmed Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson will be part of the Fast and Furious 10 movie. “You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscars, haha, is this deep soul who will add something you might not expect but have been craving. Welcome to the Brie FAMILY. “

July 21, 2021: Speaking about his future in the Fast and Furious movies, said Dwayne Johnson: “I wish them all the best for Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck for Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious films that they make without me.”

June 26, 2021: Vin Diesel told the Metro: “We’ve been working on 10 for the last year, so I have so much to share and I’m holding back. I know one of the things Justin wants to do is film on all seven continents, which I think is quite spectacular, as a tribute to the world that made this saga their own.

He added: “I think you’re going to be quite shocked when you see Fast 10. It doesn’t have to be a specific place that we’re going to, but there’s something special coming that I’m so looking forward to. I can’t tell you, but I wish I could.”

October 20, 2020: appointment reported Justin Lin, who has directed five of the Fast and Furious films, will direct the last two.

What about Fast 11?

In October 2020 the time had come revealed Justin Lin would direct the last two films of the Fast and Furious franchise. Tyrese Gibson – who plays Roman – previously said the plan is to do Fast and Furious 10 and Fast and Furious 11 back-to-back.

There’s currently no word on a release date for Fast and Furious 11, but if the two films are shot back-to-back then hopefully we won’t have to wait too long after Fast X before we get the second part of the finale. It’s probably still 2024, although we won’t see Fast X until May 2023.
