NBA Finals 2022 Game 6 odds, picks, prediction

Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals concludes Thursday night (9 p.m. ET, ABC) with the Boston Celtics hosting the Golden State Warriors. It’s win-or-go home time for the Celtics as a third loss in a row would give way to a Warriors celebration on the hardwood floor of TD Garden.

Despite leading 1-0, 2-1 in the series, Boston struggled to get a KO punch. And in Game 4 and Game 5, we saw the Celtics’ inexperience become part of the storyline, as Golden State limited Boston to no more than 20 points in the fourth quarter of both games.

Given what I’ve seen of the Celtics lately, I don’t want any part of them as a side. And since I already have a slant towards the lower end for the grand total, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Game 6 player props.

Warriors vs. Celtics NBA Finals Game 6 Predictions and Tips

Marcus Smart over 15.5 points (-118)

Smart may not be the Celtics’ best player, but he has the respect of his teammates and remains the alpha dog of the team. The Celtics point guard knows he must hold himself accountable before asking his teammates to give it their all on the pitch.

Smart has at least 18 points in four of the five games in this series. He’s never afraid to take the big shot and he’s a player you can expect to be aggressive, especially when it’s all at stake. Look to Smart to lead by example, as this alpha dog won’t go down without a fight on Thursday night.

Kevon Looney Points + Assists over 7.5 (-140)

I don’t mind putting the juice here because Looney has exceeded that number in four of the five games in the series. Game 5 was the only time he finished under but foul troubles limited him to just 17 minutes in the contest.

I don’t expect Looney to have the same problem in back-to-back games. What intrigues me about this prop is that he’s a great passer for a big man.

Looney recorded at least two assists in every game and averaged three per game for the series. If he can get some light dunks on the edge, we’re on our way to redeeming that ticket.

Robert Williams points + rebounds over 17.5 (-106)

Williams was ruled questionable for Game 5, yet he still managed to log 30 minutes into the contest. Also, it was his second straight game with at least 30 minutes on the pitch.

In an interview with Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Williams spoke about the lengthy preparation he goes through to be ready for the game. And according to Celtics medical staff, there’s no risk of him injuring his knee further if he continues to play in this series.

As a result, I don’t see Williams’ minute limit for Game 6 at this point. As long as the Celtics are confident of getting him on the ground, I want him to top his points + rebounds prop at 17.5. Williams has dwarfed that number in the last three games and his ability to stay out of foul trouble is another positive sign for those who like the over in this brace.
