Lighting get stomped by Avalanche in Game 2 of Stanley Cup finals

The Colorado Avalanche, who appeared to be the better team against the defending champions, defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-0 in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals to take a 2-0 lead.

Valeri Nichushkin scored his seventh and eighth goals in the playoffs. And playoff MVP leader Cale Makar scored twice in the third half.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series takes place Monday night at Tampa’s Amalie Arena.
