NBA Twitter will overanalyze and compare players from all eras. Modern comparisons are in order, this time it’s Jayson Tatum and Paul George.
When Paul George is on form, he’s one of the best players in the league. He’s arguably top 12 when he makes his move and there are very few players in the league who can stop him.
Jayson Tatum is in the same breath. The Boston Celtics superstar was in brilliant form throughout the playoff run. He’s beaten the likes of Jimmy Butler, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant to reach the NBA Finals.
But like his parallel, his form was a little hot and cold at times. We all know what Paul George is capable of. Just three years ago he came third in the MVP voting. He also made the All-NBA First Team that year.
Jayson is on the same path. He got his first All-NBA call-up this year, and that’s on the first team, no less. He may not have been in the MVP competition this year, but we know he’s coming for that award.
Paul George is actually the perfect comparison for tatum, the highs are mvp level games, the lows are to get that nigga off the court level

NBA Twitter compares Jayson Tatum to Paul George and finds uncanny similarities
Well, here’s the gist of the story; If Jayson Tatum is good, he’s basically a top 10 player, an MVP candidate. But when he’s bad, he’s often the worst player on the pitch.
Reminds you of something? Paul George is exactly the same type of player. In addition, both players are excellent 3&D wingers and highly efficient goal scorers.
He’s more Paul George than Kobe to me what niggas say

One user even goes so far as to say that Tatum is closer to Paul George than Kobe.
Our thoughts? For now, as far as we know, that comparison is accurate. Tatum has something PG never did, an appearance in the finale. He’s also just two wins away from his first NBA championship.
Though the road ahead is tough, it’s certainly a possibility. Jayson’s career still has a long way to go and if he is to avoid further comparisons to PG he needs to fill the gaps in his game.
