With Game 6 of the NBA Finals scheduled for this Thursday night, Isaiah Thomas has decided to challenge the Boston Celtics. However, that’s not because he’s frustrated with the way they play.
Instead, Thomas cast a shadow over the Celtics over their handling center Robert Williams’ knee injury.
Williams told Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes that his knee was severely drained during the Eastern Conference Finals. That’s because he’s been reassured that he’s not at risk of making his injury worse than it already is.
Thomas played through a hip injury while with the Celtics. As a result, he was never able to regain his All-Star form. Still, he’s not a fan of the Celtics, who allow Williams to compete with a knee injury.
“I’ve heard that before lol,” Thomas tweeted in response to a report saying Williams won’t aggravate his knee injury if he plays through it.
Basketball fans are a little stunned by Thomas’ tweet.
“They ruined your career and they will do it again,” said one fan.
“This hurts to read,” wrote another fan. “I hate how the front office turned you on.”
There are some fans who believe Williams is eligible to play through injury during the NBA Finals.
Luckily for Williams, there are at most two games left this season. By the end of this month he will be able to put his feet up and relax.
