PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Dwight Evans, who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2016, defeated several Democratic challengers in Tuesday’s primary, the Associated Press projects. Evans represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd congressional district, encompassing Center City, West Philly and extending into Northwest Philadelphia.
Member of Congress Evans is from North Philly. Most recently, he pushed for new government support aimed at urban crime.

Evans defeated challengers Alexandra Hunt and Michael Cogbill in his bid for re-election.
Hunt, 29, is active on social media and has made headlines for her professional career.
“I’m a former stripper-turned-congressman and running for Congress in the PA-3,” Hunt said.

“A property tax, black reparations, raising the minimum wage to a living wage, union power,” Hunt said.
Cogbill’s resume includes involvement in the NAACP and the Democratic National Committee.
