Charles Barkley rips Jayson Tatum on Stanley Cup broadcast

Charles Barkley made a guest appearance in Game 3 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals between the Colorado Avalanche and the Tampa Bay Lightning Monday night. Fresh from NBA Finals coverage, Sir Charles decided to take a blatant shot at Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum when the Hall of Famer shared his insight into a particular play during the game.

A turnover by Avs resulted in a Lightning goal, and Barkley saw it as an opportunity to put some shade on the Celtics All-Star:

“It’s just plain old Jayson Tatum sales,” Barkley said said. “”Sorry, just kidding… I love you Jayson Tatum. I’m just having fun.”

To be fair to Barkley, Tatum’s turnover rate from this past postseason hasn’t been announced. The Celtics superstar is now the not-so-proud owner of a terrible NBA playoff record, where he’s the only player to surpass 100 turnovers in the postseason. That’s obviously a record Tatum isn’t happy about, and Barkley just had to throw it in the face.

Barkley quickly pulled his jab back by apologizing to Tatum, but obviously the damage was done. This is pure savagery from Sir Charles and I’m confident this won’t be the last we hear of this Tatum record this summer.
