Prior to this week, most Boston Celtics fans, if they knew anything at all about the Florida State product, only knew that recently signed big man Mfiondu Kabengele is the nephew of Hall of Fame center Dikembe Mutumbo.

But the Toronto, Ontario native doesn’t play all that much like his famous uncle, with rim protection being a much more minor aspect of his game and his ability to hit 3-pointers being a growing aspect of his game that the famous finger wagger never got to the table when he was in the league. Kabengele previously played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the G League last season and played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA.
