Celtics’ Robert Williams available for NBA Finals Game 1 vs. Warriors

Robert Williams ready for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The Boston Celtics have listed the big man as available for Thursday night’s showdown against the Golden State Warriors. He had been questionable due to persistent pain in his surgically repaired left knee.

Williams was the only player on the C’s injury report going into the matchup.

Williams’ knee severely handicapped him during Boston’s Game 7 win over the Miami Heat. The 24-year-old limped and struggled to move laterally throughout his 15 minutes on the pitch. Some, including our own Brian Scalabrine, felt it would be wise for the Celtics to rest Time Lord for Game 1.

Nonetheless, Williams will give it another try and look like he can make the difference, having been for the C’s all season. If he gets close to his usual self, he’ll give Golden State some serious color problems.

Celtics-Warriors Game 1 pick is scheduled for 9pm ET at the Chase Center. Coverage begins right here on NBC Sports Boston with Celtics Pregame Live at 7:30 p.m
