Game 6 was a win-or-go home contest for the Boston Celtics, and the Celtics did not actually win. So after an amazing run, they head home to wrap up the 2021-22 NBA season with an electric postseason to wrap up several frustrating seasons.
And while it’s not an NBA title, the success the Celtics have achieved this campaign is something to build on beyond the sting of an NBA Finals series loss. The ups and downs of Game 6 is something to remember as they attempt to win Banner 18 in 2022-23. But those ups and downs of Game 6 were fresh in our memories when the buzzer rang, and worth a second look as we close the season with a bow.

This is what the Boston Celtics and NBA Twitter said during Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
Hearing Ray Allen will be at TD Garden tonight with Paul Pierce.

You can’t tell me there’s 90 minutes until the clue. Come on.
— Polite Deb (@SopanDeb) June 16, 2022
Play hard, do your best. This season has been something I’m very thankful for, it’s given me a lot of motivation to work on my mistakes because I’ve seen them do the same. It’s a really incredible group

Your opening story 2:35….
boston 12
Golden State 2Celtic’s turnover: 0

Smart pulls out his flop pocket early, just like Draymond did in Game 2.

To breathe. keep moving Ball finds energy
— Richard White (@RamblinWreck34) June 17, 2022
Terrible ending to the first for those #Celts. Led by 10 early followed by five entering the second.
— Adam Kaufman (@AdamMKaufman) June 17, 2022
Quite the counterattack from the Warriors.
— Brian Robb (@BrianTRobb) June 17, 2022
Either put the real players back on the ground or just pack up and go home…
— Ryan Bernardoni (@dangercart) June 17, 2022
Small chunks. Stops and bounces back
— Richard White (@RamblinWreck34) June 17, 2022
Rob is such a fucking monster.
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2022
The Celtics have 11 turnovers and 11 assists. Not good.
— Christopher Gasper (@cgasper) June 17, 2022
Grant can’t play if he misses shots and won’t deny shots at the other end.
Boston is basically down to the five starters who can play, and that’s not sustainable.
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2022
The Celtics are lucky to be just 15 behind – their bench didn’t give them anything that half
The 4 starters minus Rob Williams may have to play the entire 2nd half – with Rob playing as many minutes as he can
— Ryan McDonough (@McDNBA) June 17, 2022
Late clock Draymond threesomes are killers.
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2022
There’s no reason for Al Horford to throw the ball out when it’s defended by Steph Curry at the post. There he must punish the smaller Curry and go to work.
— Ky Carlin (@Ky_Carlin) June 17, 2022
It’s now Al Horford against the Warriors.
— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) June 17, 2022
Steph just casually pulls up from 30 feet 😮
— matte eppers (@meppers_) June 17, 2022
I’m not even angry. I don’t like this Warriors team at all. To see them come back to it after two lost seasons is pretty incredible.
Right now I’m a bit sad, it looks like the Celtics season is over. But it’s hard to get excited about what Boston has done this year. IDK 🤷♂️
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2022
Well, Jaylen came to play. That’s for sure.
— Christopher Gasper (@cgasper) June 17, 2022
LFG 🗣🗣🗣☘️☘️☘️
— Anna Horford (@AnnaHorford) June 17, 2022
Jayson Tatum can change the narrative with an incredible fourth. #Celts
— Adam Kaufman (@AdamMKaufman) June 17, 2022
Rob plays his ass off.
– Mike Dynon ☘️🏀 (@MikeDynon) June 17, 2022
Celtics try to lean on ball handlers like a boxer losing his legs.
— Anchorage Man (@SethPartnow) June 17, 2022
We will always remember “Even Flow” from those 2022 Finals
– Meghan Ottolini (@Meghan_Otolini) June 17, 2022
Jayson had a terrible finale. There are 30 best players in teams. 28 sit at home. Jayson is one of the few who can take you this far and he’s 24.
— Ryan Bernardoni (@dangercart) June 17, 2022
Tough game for Jayson Tatum tonight. 13 points in 6v17 shooting and now up to five turnovers after that last trip. Celtics are 93-81 with 3:32 to go. The warriors can see the finish line.
