After a very long and important season, the Boston Celtics are finally resting.

The only good thing about losing to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals is that they can now take some time off and recover from the rough, devastating, and drawn out season they just went through.

Sure enough, they all plan on getting some R&R.

Basketball Operations President Brad Stevens spoke about the status of the team and the physical strain they had endured.

He put it bluntly, saying, “These guys just need some rest.”

Nobody will disagree with that.

Stevens added that Robert Williams III would need to be put off his feet and that doctors said he was at no risk of injury playing in the final.

All in all, it sounds like the Celtics are exhausted and a little dejected, but not seriously injured.

This bodes well for the team as they will be back next season.

In one piece

It’s quite surprising that more Boston players haven’t missed time through injury this season.

They’re a young, strong and athletic team, but the season is long and intense and you’d think a few more guys would have had a tough time.

Of course there were injuries – Robert Williams, as mentioned – but the team mostly stayed healthy when it mattered.

As we move into next season, the team will look to build on what they already have.

That means you’ll get a lot more of it from the Celtics.

Thankfully, that sounds very doable given that players are still capable and healthy.

Expect the Celtics to remain a potent force in the east as the next season begins.
