BOSTON — Robert Williams III continues to be listed as questionable on the injury report with a sore left knee, but the big man also remains available for every NBA Finals game. Williams was upgraded to active on injury report for Game 6 of the finals against the Warriors, according to the Celtics.
The Celtics need all the productive juice they can get from standing with their backs to the wall and losing 3-2 to the Warriors. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at 9 p.m. at the TD Garden as the C’s try to keep their season alive.
Williams, when given the chance to play, has made a difference. The big man’s minutes have crept into the 30-plus range with the Celtics looking for No. 18 Banner. Williams played 30 minutes into Game 6, recording 10 points and eight rebounds while playing well defensively.
Williams was slowed down during the playoffs because of a sore left knee. He had meniscus surgery late in the season but also suffered a bruised bone in the second round against the Bucks. That kept him from his full strength during the playoffs.
