The Boston Celtics are scheduled for the summer after the team lined up their roster for the Las Vegas Summer League. The Summer League, sponsored by NBA 2K23, will host all 30 teams in the NBA and will see the Celtics take on the Miami Heat on Saturday, July 9th at 5:30pm ET on NBATV.
The roster includes returning players like Sam Hauser, Brodric Thomas, Matt Ryan and Juhann Begarin. Unfortunately, due to previous international commitments, we won’t be watching Yam Madar again. Also, we take a look at Boston’s 2022 second-round pick, JD Davison. The full list is as follows:
- Juhann Begarin (D/F)
- Jordan Bone (G)
- JD Davison (G)
- Sam Hauser (F)
- Jericole Hellems (F)
- Bryton Hobbs (G)
- Mfiondu Kabengele (F/C)
- AJ Reeves (G)
- Matt Ryan (F)
- Brodric Thomas (G)
- Trevion Williams (C)
That roster will be coached by Ben Sullivan, who has an opportunity to step up to the executive assistant role alongside Ime Udoka following Will Hardy’s departure to the Utah Jazz next season.
After being tipped off against the Miami Heat, the Celtics will continue the 2022 playoff revenge tour with a match against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The next game will be a Finals rematch against the Warriors the next day, July 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Finally, the Celtics will complete their guaranteed list of games against the Memphis Grizzlies on July 14 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Depending on their record, Boston will play either the championship game on July 17 or a regular fifth game on July 16 or 17. Last year Payton Pritchard led the Celtics to second place in the championship game.
In hindsight, that was also symbolic of where we would end the real season. Ouch.
Stay tuned for all the coverage you could wish for on the Summer Celtics.
