Bolts Bounce Back In A Big Way, Defeat Avalanche 6-2 In Game 3 | 95.3 WDAE

Well THIS is the answer you wanted to see.

Six different players scored and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 37 saves as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Colorado Avalanche 6-2 in Game 3 of their Stanley Cup Finals.

Colorado’s lead in the series is now 2-1.

Anthony Cirelli, Ondrej Palat, Nick Paul, Steven Stamkos, Pat Maroon and Corey Perry all scored for Tampa Bay.

The Avalanche thought they scored the first goal when Valeri Nichushkin scored at 3:00 p.m., but Lightning video coach Nigel Kirwan and his team got into the clutch again.

After a lengthy review, the game was ruled offside when Devon Toews failed to keep the puck in the zone at the 15:04 mark and the game remained scoreless.

Colorado opened the game with a power play goal from Gabriel Landeskog at 8:19, but Tampa Bay didn’t fold and kept pushing for the equalizer.

And found the goal they did when Anthony Cirelli scored at 13:03.

Cirelli raced into the Avalanche Zone and attempted to play forehand to backhand when he met Kuemper, but the puck slipped off his racquet and through the Colorado goalie’s legs to level the score at 1-1.

A little over two minutes later, Tampa Bay took the first lead of the series.

Palat executed an absolutely perfect give-and-go, taking a feed into the slot from Steven Stamkos after throwing a pass to him on the circle, and the Lightning winger snapped one over Kuemper to save Tampa Bay with 2: 1 lead 15:04.

With Brayden Point out with a lower body injury, the Lightning could hardly afford to lose any more of their top stars, but things looked grim when Josh Manson poked Nick Paul from behind and the Tampa Bay forward limped onto the bench. After a few moments, Paul had to be helped into the Lightning dressing room.

Ready for the game? nope

Score the next goal? You bet!

Just 1:26 into the 2nd, Paul found a puck in the slot and snapped one past Kuemper to raise the Lightning a pair.

The Avalanche got one back when Landeskog scored another power play goal at 4:43.
