Wayne Gretzky’s 1988 Edmonton Oilers are the gold standard of Stanley Cup runs. Their 16-2 record in the playoffs has not been surpassed since the 1987 NHL postseason transitioned into four best-of-seven rounds. Avs just followed by winning the trophy with a 16-4 record in those playoffs .
