Avalanche will keep the party going in Game 3

The headliner for Monday’s sports board is Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. We at Bark Bets have solid reading of this series on an individual game level, but we are changing our tune on the overall prospects of this final. After the 7-0 thrashing victory that Colorado conceded to Tampa Bay on Saturday, we’re having a hard time seeing Lightning recover.

Betting on the avalanche to roll on – It’s not just that Colorado won both games in this series and demolished the Lightning in Game 2, it’s the huge disparity in shots on goal. The Bolts have averaged a measly 19.5 shots per game so far, while the Avalanche have averaged 34 shots. Sure, Tampa Bay came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals, but this feels very different. In this series, the Lightning still found room to operate and fire shots at will. The same cannot be said up to this point in the finale.

Colorado dominates in every facet of the game and even on the streets, We want the Avs to win at -110 tonight. The Avalanche have taken to the streets for all three Game 3s in their postseason run, winning every single one. Not only have they won every one of these scenarios, they’ve also won by an average of three goals per game. If you’re looking for a value bet tonight, consider Avalanche’s alternative puck line of -1.5 (+235). Unfortunately, we believe that a sweep is becoming a very real possibility and we are adjusting our betting approach to reflect this belief.

In other news…

Matt Fitzpatrick wins the US Open – The news on Sunday was that England’s Matt Fitzpatrick won his first Major and won the US Open by a total of -6 over four days. Will Zalatoris was so close making a putt that would have forced a check-off. In these majors, Zulatoris always falls short; His time must come soon. We shouldn’t use this space to mention that we singled out Fitzpatrick +3000 on Wednesday to win the event, but it looks like we just did.

The excitement surrounding Baker Mayfield and the Panthers continues – We’re still a few weeks from the start of NFL training camp, and one domino we’ve been waiting for is the fate of the Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Carolina Panthers remain the most logical partner for the former Heisman winner, and the latest reports suggest the Panthers will trade for him with Cleveland picking up most of his salary. The Panthers don’t really have an answer for quarterback position, so one way or another we like that Mayfield is in Carolina early in the season. If you think Mayfield could make a difference, think again Betting on the Panthers to reach the playoffs at +500.

Max Verstappen wins sixth event of his 2022 season – Verstappen survived a late comeback from Carlos Sainz to win the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. The win is Verstappen’s sixth F1 win of the 2022 season. It was a dominant run for Verstappen who will look to keep him going at the British Grand Prix on July 3. Verstappen is currently -500 to win the Formula 1 World Championshipwhich shows what a special season the 24-year-old is having.
