Avalanche Signs Zhuravlyov | NHL.com

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed defenseman Danila Zhuravlyov to a two-year, entry-level contract for the 2023-24 season.

Zhuravlyov, 21, spent most of the 2021-22 season with Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL, recording six points (1g/5a) in 43 games and adding two points (0g/2a) in six postseason competitions. The 6ft, 163lb defender also played in a game with Bars Kazan in VHL, Russia’s minor league, and scored a point (0g/1a).

Zhuravlyov has 27 points (5g/22a) in 117 KHL career games and four points (1g/3a) in 16 playoff competitions. During the 2020-21 season, he had career bests in points (13), goals (3), and assists (10). A native of Russia from Nizhny Novgorod, he has also participated in 52 VHL competitions, all played for Bars Kazan, with eight points (1g/7a) and in 67 games in the Russian junior league MHL with 26 points (11g/15a). for Irbis Kazan.

Internationally, Zhuravlyov represented his country at two IIHF World Junior Championships, scoring two points (0g/2a) in seven matches to help Russia win the silver medal in 2020 and scoring one point (0g/1a) in seven competitions, to help his country win a bronze medal at the 2019 tournament.
