Anthology of McCandless hosts cornhole tournament to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Association

Anthology of McCandless Senior Living Community held a cornhole tournament on June 21 to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Twenty-four teams competed and raised more than $1,200 for Alzheimer’s research.

June 21st is the day of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, and each year the Alzheimer’s Association honors the summer solstice, raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease by recognizing that for people affected by dementia, the time otherwise passes.

Participants in the tournament also enjoyed local food trucks, jazz music and spent the longest day of the year with friends and loved ones.
