3 Best Landing Spots for Johnny Davis in 2022 NBA Draft

Right now, WynnBET predicts that Davis will drop out of the top 10 as he gets picked at -250 over pick 9.5 and +200 at nine or earlier. Davis can lead a next-level offense, but he’s been asked to score many more goals in his sophomore season.

Which teams would he fit well with? Here are a few potential candidates for Davis centered around his proposed draft spot:

New York Knicks (No. 11)

The Knicks are in dire need of consistent guard play after driving Kemba Walker, Alec Burks and others on the point guard spot in the 2021-22 season.

Davis could be a good fit alongside Immanuel Quickley, especially if the Knicks pull away from some of their veterans during the offseason. Davis can create his own shot and has the size to be a plus defender in Tom Thibodeau’s scheme.

The Knicks are the Knicks, but the team did a much better job of player development (Rj Barrett, Quickley, Obi Toppin) in the Thibodeau era.

New Orleans Pelicans (#8)

The New Orleans Pelicans could use some tried guard help around CJ McCollum, but they’re probably unlikely to pick Davis at No. 8 given his chances of finishing in the top 10.

Still, I think Davis would be a good fit on a budding Pelicans team, and he’s a more NBA-ready prospect who could help the team build last year’s playoff appearance.

McCollum and Devonte’ Graham are both smaller guards, so bringing a goalscorer like Davis into the backfield could be beneficial to remove taller defenders from CJ and allow the Pels to play with McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and Davis in the back game getting small .

It’s unlikely, but I wouldn’t mind if he lands with New Orleans.

Washington Wizards (No. 10)

Yahoo! The latest mock draft from Sports Davis ended up with the Washington Wizards and I really think it could be a good place regardless of Bradley Beal being on the roster next season.

The Wizards lacked a good scorer with Beal out and Davis could have an opportunity to lead the offense with Kyle Kuzma, Kristaps Porzingis and Rui Hachimura alongside.

The Wizards are in dire need of proven talent, and Davis could step in and make his contribution from day one.
