The NBA draft is 6 days away and all info and smoke should be picked up after the weekend. Everyone here seems to be trying to figure out what the Memphis Grizzlies have in mind, especially since training drafts and rumors are pretty tight-lipped.
Let’s try to put together some ideas through mock drafts and DraftKings odds.
The 22nd selection:
The 29th selection:

Most of these mock drafts have the Grizzlies targeting wing prospects with their picks, while a good chunk has Kennedy Chandler selected — if Tyus Jones leaves this summer. Patrick Baldwin Jr. is also a popular choice as he has a similar resume and skillset to Ziaire Williams. While these drills aren’t that accurate, they form a good consensus on where a player might be picked and what teams might think.
While there aren’t specific odds focused on picking the Memphis Grizzlies, DraftKings does have odds that give an idea of where a player might go and how high the Grizzlies might have to trade to acquire them.
Tari Eason and Nikola Jovic are two popular names on Grizzlies Twitter. It’s easy to fall in love with her due to her skill level given her height. It is ideal for both forwards between Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane. Your odds are close to the Grizzlies’ range:
- Reason: Over 16.5 -210, Under 16.5 +170
- Jovic: Under 20.5 -145, Over 20.5 +115
Eason’s stock slipped slightly from the end of the lottery to the middle of the first round. Those odds are about right for him since he was a trending pick for the Chicago Bulls when he was 18. It shows he’s in a good position to be a realistic trade target for the Grizzlies.
Those odds sound about right for Jovic. He makes a lot of sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs at 19 and 20 respectively. Whether the Grizzlies want him, he’s in the line where he could either fall to Memphis, or it’s a small trade to get him.
There are a few other odds that caught my eye regarding Grizzlies picks.
Blake Wesley’s over/under ratio is 23.5 – under is -140, over is +110. He’s recently been training for the Grizzlies, and the Grizzlies are picking at 22. Given his youth and perimeter skills, he could be top of the board for Memphis — and those factors should be enticing for teams in the top 20.
Walker Kessler’s odds show how polarizing he is as a prospect. His over/under is set at 24.5 – with under at -120, over at -110. There are raters who will have him in the top 25 and others who will struggle with him in the top 20. Personally, I wouldn’t feel good about the Grizzlies picking him at 22, but it’s fair to be seduced by his size, offensive efficiency, and shot blocking.
With the NBA Finals wrapped up, more info and smoke should come with the NBA draft as we’re less than a week away to see how it all plays out.
